Welcome to the Technology Department!
The technology mission of St. Joseph Catholic Academy (SJCA) is to allow students to excel in a 21st century world where the careers they may choose are still being determined. Central to this is the ability to acquire information from many sources in varied formats, think critically, ask relevant questions, and build their own base of knowledge. The 21st century student will learn skills that will allow them to succeed in world that gets smaller everyday with the ability to communicate with people in their own school, in their communities, and around our interconnected world.
As a 1 to 1 computing school, St. Joseph Catholic Academy provides each Upper Campus student (grades 6 – 12) with a laptop computer connected to our school network and the vast resources of the Internet. This is done wirelessly throughout our Upper School campus. Today’s students live in a digital world. Our goal is to provide them the tools necessary to achieve through their own skills and learning styles. At our Lower Campus (grades Pre K - 5) students are engaged in a project based curriculum supported by technology in both the classroom and a faculty staffed computer lab environment.
Supporting this goal is a Technology Department consisting of three full time certified employees: the Director of Technology, the Technology Integration Specialist, and the Help Desk Specialist. SJCA provides students a safe, secure, and innovative technology environment that drives the educational mission of the school.
