CYO Band
Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) believes that music is so much more than beautiful art … it’s also a vehicle for learning essential life skills. By following a challenging musical curriculum, the students of the CYO Music Programs learn teamwork, organizational and leadership skills, personal responsibility, and the value of hard work. Performance, music camp, and travel experiences fine-tune new skills, helping students to mature as musicians and as people.
At SJCA we currently offer Beginning Band (4th graders and 1st year players) and Cadet Band (5th graders and 2nd year players). These special students give up their recess time to learn how to play band instruments – this is great because they will not miss any important academic classes and they still get two 30 minute rehearsals each week!
